CASE STUDY

Qualified Inquiries Grew From 0 to 1 a Month to 3 to 5 for an Engineering Firm

A specialized engineering firm, a DMG client since 2001, won its work through reputation and referral. A website rebuild delivered between December 2025 and March 2026 gave it structured lead capture, and qualified inquiries now run at 3 to 5 a month.

THE SITUATION

A Strong Reputation. A Website That Had Not Kept Up.

The firm is a specialized engineering company and one of DMG’s longest-standing clients. We have hosted and supported it since 2001.

Its work came through reputation and referral. The website did almost none of it. DMG built that site about ten years earlier, and it had not kept pace with the company. It carried no new content and nothing that showed the firm’s innovation.

The site generated little to no inbound, offered no real lead capture, and did nothing to qualify the few inquiries that came through.

THE STRUCTURAL WEAKNESS

Referrals Were the Only Real Channel.

The review found a website that could not support growth, whatever was done to promote it.

  • An outdated site. About ten years old, with no new content or updates.
  • No conversion architecture. There was no structured path from visitor to inquiry.
  • No qualification logic on the forms. Every inquiry arrived unsorted.
  • A thin search presence in a highly technical niche.

THE PLAN

The Website First. Marketing After.

The firm had become more engaged in its own growth and came to us for help. We recommended starting with the website.

The existing site was outdated and did not highlight the company’s innovation. The firm also needed a solid foundation for its future marketing efforts. A rebuilt website answers both, so it came first.

WHAT WAS BUILT

Four Pieces, Built in Sequence.

01
A conversion-focused website

A full rebuild that presents the firm’s current work.

02
Technical SEO

Built into the new site from the start.

03
Structured lead capture

Lead capture with a qualification path.

04
Measurement

Launched with analytics, Search Console and verified form routing.

THE OUTCOME

A Qualified-Lead Channel Alongside Referrals.

  • Qualified inquiries grew from 0 to 1 a month before the rebuild to 3 to 5 a month.
  • Lead-to-client conversion rose from under 10% to 47%.
  • Engaged sessions doubled, from 54 in March 2025 to 109 in March 2026.
  • Sessions from organic search grew 38%, from 58 to 80 over the same two months.
  • The firm’s name ranks first in Google, and its proprietary system name holds a first-page position.
Bar chart from Google Analytics 4: engaged sessions rose from 54 in March 2025 to 109 in March 2026, and sessions from organic search rose from 58 to 80

“DMG has supported us for decades to help the business be sustainable for so long and also improve our growth globally.”

Client, specialized engineering firm

The site now produces a predictable qualified-lead channel alongside referrals. The firm’s reputation still brings in work. The website now does its share.

WHERE IT STANDS NOW

A Completed Build. A Long Relationship.

The website build is complete. DMG continues to host and support the site, as it has since 2001.

This is the work described on our Website Infrastructure page. For other engagements, see all case studies.
